4.) Pittsburgh Steelers

We’ll shift gears now to a team that is certainly searching for a center rather than a versatile interior lineman to mold into the position. The Pittsburgh Steelers currently have just two players back at the critical OL position following the retirement of Maurkice Pouncey, their former starter.

To combat the loss of Pouncey, the Steelers signed their expected starting center B.J. Finney to a one-year contract for 2021. Finney, who played on the Cincinnati Bengals before signing with the black and gold, missed all but one game in the 2020 season due to an abdominal injury.

There’s no question that Pittsburgh’s front office has scoured through the 2021 NFL Draft class looking for potential centers to fill that void. Interestingly enough, taking a late chance at Kennedy wouldn’t be the first time this organization scooped up a former UT offensive lineman.

The club signed Ramon Foster, who played on Tennessee football’s offensive line from 2004-2008, as an undrafted free agent in 2009. Though the Ripley, Tenn. native has publicly endorsed Trey Smith as who he’d like to see next on Pittsburgh’s offensive line, we’re sure he wouldn’t mind seeing Kennedy suit up for the team he played 11 seasons for, either.
