3.) New York Giants

We actually wrote in our early NFL Draft projections for Josh Palmer back in February that the New York Giants were a potential favorite to land Josh Palmer. Draft expert Chad Forbes recently tweeted out that the Giants love Palmer and have been trying to work out how they can land him.

New York is going to focus more on defense early, but they want to find a potential steal at receiver in the later rounds, making Palmer a great candidate. It’s also always good to land with a team that is interested in you. That will make them invested. A big help to Palmer is that former Tennessee football head coach Jeremy Pruitt is now an assistant with the Giants.

There is less of a connection here, but former linebackers coach Kevin Sherrer is as there well. Heck, Derek Dooley is on the staff and would be Palmer’s receivers coach. Dooley saw Palmer have his best college game against him when he was offensive coordinator of the Missouri Tigers in 2019. That was the only game Palmer ever had over 100 yards receiving in college.

Of course, coaching connections alone aren’t on here. Tee Martin, Palmer’s receivers coach the past two years, is with the Baltimore Ravens, and while Baltimore is looking for a receiver, they are looking for one in the earlier rounds with more star potential. Still, the connections help.
