4.) Miami Dolphins

Reports suggest the Miami Dolphins are eyeing centers, which is what pushed them down this list. The Pittsburgh Steelers didn’t make it specifically because they had a need at center and not among versatile interior lineman, which would leave room for Trey Smith to get drafted. That does benefit fellow Tennessee football lineman Brandon Kennedy.

Still, based on Miami’s situation last year, the Dolphins should definitely be looking for a guard. Sure, they had Ereck Flowers, and Solomon Kindley is a young and rising star. The two together are why it makes sense for them to look at tackles first.

However, with Kindley and Flowers at the helm, Pro Football Focus notes their starters allowed 37 combined pressures on the year. The rushing attack made it worse, as they were fourth from worst in the league in yards per carry, averaging only four. How can you not justify drafting a guard when your guards are allowing the most pressure and your run game is awful?

We should also note that Miami has had success with former Vols. Remember, they got a great run out of Ja’Wuan James, and Dallas Thomas also spent four years there. Smith could fill that void. If Brian Flores and co. weren’t looking elsewhere, this team would make the most sense.
