Scouting Report. Defensive back. Senior. Theo Jackson. player. Pick Analysis. 4. 839

6’2″ 203 pounds; Hometown: Nashville, Tenn.

One of the longtime members of Tennessee football, Theo Jackson committed to Butch Jones and is now playing for Josh Heupel. He’s back in the system he somewhat committed to playing in with Tim Banks running the show and his 4-3 nickel based defense. Who lines up at nickel is actually a big question, though, and that’s why Jackson makes the list.

Alontae Taylor, Kenneth George Jr. and Warren Burrell are competing for the cornerback spots. Jaylen McCollough and Trevon Flowers seem to have the safety spots locked up. Jackson will be competing with that third cornerback for the nickel spot.

At the same time, though, Jackson could be competing for one of the safety spots. The in-state graduate of Overton High School has a ton of experience now and is a proven playmaker, and he has come down with an interception each of his last two years mostly as a backup.

With Shawn Shamburger off the roster and Baylen Buchanan gone after sitting out two years, Jackson has a great chance to finally get his shine. There are numerous questions about the secondary that could be somewhat revealing on Saturday, but Jackson will bring a lot to the table. See if he can lock up a position.
