SEC Media Days is back! After skipping last year due to COVID, the event is taking place once again in Alabama just outside of Birmingham. On Tuesday, Tennessee football is taking the stage. The Vols are doing it with a new head coach for the fifth time since 2009, and there is a ton of other drama facing the program in the process.

As Josh Heupel gets set to speak at the Hyatt Regency Wynfrey Hotel in Hoover, Ala. just outside of Birmingham at 11:30 a.m. on SEC Network, he will be joined by senior wide receiver Velus Jones Jr. and senior defensive back Alontae Taylor. Together, they will likely have to answer a ton of questions surrounding the program.

In this post, we’re going to break down what hey all, particularly Heupel, need to be asked about. These are the things that everybody is wondering most about Tennessee football at the moment. Here are the five biggest questions for the Vols as the take the stage at SEC Media Days ahead of the 2021 season.

5. What effect has the new NIL ruling had on the program?

Obviously, the story of the offseason for everybody is the Supreme Court ruling on player compensation and the fact that athletes can also now profit off of their name, image and likeness. UT is a program that could benefit the most from this given its large budget, the fact that Knoxville is actually a city with lots of businesses and the amount of interest in the program.

This could all turn into a huge recruiting advantage for Heupel and Rocky Top. Danny White has put a plan in place to help players take advantage of it, but Heupel should be asked about his strategy to make sure the players get the most out of the ruling.

At the same time, Taylor and Jones could be asked about what they are doing to take advantage of the ruling. This is something that should benefit Tennessee football in a huge way in the long run, and the things they do could get the ball rolling for future athletes. All of this will be intriguing.
