4. WRONG: More first place votes for South Carolina than Tennessee

It’s fair to say Tennessee football doesn’t deserve any first place votes to win the SEC East or the SEC Championship. However, one major absurdity in the whole matter is the fact that the South Carolina Gamecocks received a first place vote. In fact, South Carolina received a first place vote to win the entire SEC, which is crazy.

Sorry, but that makes no sense. How could South Carolina receive one and not the Vols? UT beat the Gamecocks to open last year on the road in Columbia, S.C., and finished ahead of them in the SEC standings. Also, South Carolina has a new head coach just like the Vols, and their new leader, Shane Beamer, has never been a head coach, unlike UT head coach Josh Heupel.

Everything points to UT being better than South Carolina this year. The two teams even play in Knoxville this year. There were two votes for the Kentucky Wildcats to win the East, one of which was for them to win the title, and that was crazy as well, along with votes for the Ole Miss Rebels and Arkansas Razorbacks to win the SEC West, the one for Ole Miss being to win the SEC title.

The teams who received first place votes and actually earned that case are the Alabama Crimson Tide, Georgia Bulldogs, Florida Gators, Texas A&M Aggies and LSU Tigers. LSU didn’t even receive an SEC title vote. All of that was crazy, but South Carolina receiving a vote over UT was insane.
