Independence Community College (Independence, Kan.)
Technically, Kamal Hadden wasn’t a member of Tennessee football’s 2021 recruiting class. The Vols added him through the transfer portal, as he initially committed to the Auburn Tigers out of junior college in Kansas. However, since he most recently was part of a JuCo program during a season, we’re counting him as one of the JuCo players for UT this year.
Because of what we just talked about, Hadden wasn’t able to make an impact in the spring. As a result, he’s down at No. 4. However, the redshirt sophomore has a bright future ahead of him and enters with a rare amount of potential.
A graduate River Rouge High School just outside of Detroit in Michigan’s Wayne County, Hadden was a three-star across the board. He was also listed as a cornerback across the board, and given the fact that the Vols struggled so severely last year in the secondary combined with the early departure of Bryce Thompson, their best player who was a corner, Hadden has a chance to play.
Standing at 6’1″ 190 pounds, expect Hadden to at least be in somewhat of a rotation to play. Ironically, he transferred from Auburn while Roterius Torrence, a junior college cornerback who initially committed to the Vols, transferred from UT to Auburn. We’ll now see which player pans out better in the long run.
