4. Isaac Washington

Defensive lineman; Pilot Mountain, N.C.

Just like Kaidon Salter, Isaac Washington transferred away from Tennessee football after an off-the-field issue. He didn’t ask out of his letter of intent early on like many of the other guys. Ironically, though, Washington’s legal issue stemmed from the same incident that resulted in Salter’s first legal issue, which is why both were held out of spring practice.

Aaron Willis and Martavius French, two rising star linebackers were involved in that incident as well. French has since joined Washington in transferring, although he was on the team last year, so he didn’t make this list. Meanwhile, Willis is back on the team.

Anyway, Washington, who actually decommitted from UT and then recommitted before transferring in the spring, is another three-star across the board. Standing at 6’3″ and in the range of 265 to 285 pounds, he wasn’t expected to play this year. However, defensive tackle is a position that is thin for the future.

As a result, Washington’s loss is still a bit painful. The graduate of East Surry High School in North Carolina’s Surry County is actually still in the portal and hasn’t landed anywhere else yet. However, he’s not on UT’s roster, so it’s safe to say he is a loss.
