Tennessee football: Top 10 SEC stars Vols have to account for in 2021

Okay, I’ll admit that part of this is just the storyline of Henry To’o To’o now playing for the Alabama Crimson Tide. To’o To’o was Tennessee football’s top producer on defense the past two years, becoming the leader of the linebackers, and he was a rising star. His transfer to Alabama was devastating for the program.
Although the Vols lost lots of key transfers this past offseason, none were as devastating as To’o To’o. Even Wanya Morris and Eric Gray joining the Oklahoma Sooners wasn’t as bad. Fellow linebacker Quavaris Crouch going to the Michigan State Spartans wasn’t as bad either.
To’o To’o’s transfer was the worst. Now, the Vols will have to face him in Tuscaloosa this year. Although he won’t know much about the playbook given the system change, he will know about the tendencies of certain players, and that could give Alabama an advantage, as if they needed anymore against the Vols this year when they’ll likely win in a blowout anyway.
Playing in Nick Saban’s system will likely allow To’o To’o to reach his full potential, which Vol fans saw bits of over the past two years. He doesn’t have to learn anything new, so expect him to emerge into a superstar.
