Tennessee football: Top five non-conference stars Vols have to face in 2021

One of the best defenders on the Pittsburgh Panthers, Cam Bright does a little bit of everything. He’s one of those guys whose play you can’t measure by numbers, as he alters the quarterback decisions in coverage and can force runners to reverse course. However, he still manages to get his numbers and stand out in a big way.
The graduate of Park Crossing High School in Alabama was third on the team last year and second among returning talent in total tackles with 50 and in solo tackles with 31. Included in that were seven and a half tackles for a loss, four and a half sacks and a pass deflection. Those four and a half sacks tied for the team leader last year.
In the Pro Football Focus All-ACC team, Bright made first team and was touted for his ability as an off-ball linebacker. Over each of the past two years, he has graded 73 or higher in stopping the run, rushing the passer and in coverage. Simply put, he’s a versatile guy who does it all.
As Josh Heupel tries to spread out the field, he’ll have to keep an eye on Bright at all times. He could disrupt Tennessee football’s offense in a big way. Chase Pine and Phil Campbell are also back to help make big plays at linebacker, but Bright is the one who will make it all go.
