Last week: Defeated Kent State Golden Flashes 41-10

We’re looking at another opponent that beat a MAC foe. The Kent State Golden Flashes aren’t great by any stretch, but they are significantly better than the Bowling Green Falcons, so Jimbo Fisher’s Texas A&M Aggies beating them by 31 is much more impressive than Tennessee football beating BGSU by 32.

Also, A&M, had to open this season having to replace Kellen Mond. If Haynes King doesn’t throw three interceptions, this blowout looks even more impressive. However, King’s turnovers are concerning, even as he completed 21-of-34 passes (63.6 percent) for 292 yards (8.8 yards per attempt) and two touchdowns while rushing for another 22 yards.

Isaiah Spiller is still in the backfield, and he and Devon Achane both went over 100 yards, so Fisher may have the best backfield in the nation. Add in two interceptions from Lean O’Neal Jr., and this team can make big plays either way. It may be even better than the one that blew out Tennessee football late last year.

Up next: At Colorado Buffaloes

An old Big 12 rivalry returns this weekend, as the Aggies will visit the Colorado Buffaloes. Once again, this will be a great test for them, and based on our standards of moving teams up and down these SEC Power Rankings, a win could propel them even higher.
