Another top 25 Big Ten game hits the television sets during Week 2, and this time it’s an exciting Big Ten/Pac-12 showdown. Oh, and it’s a rematch of the first national championship game ever in the history of the College Football Playoff.
The Oregon Ducks, two-time defending Pac-12 Champions, come in off a close 31-24 victory over the Fresno State Bulldogs. Mario Cristobal has a solid team, but that was concerning. Their best excuse is that they may have been looking ahead to this game.
On the other hand, the Ohio State Buckeyes struggled as well last week. They were given a scare by the Minnesota Golden Gophers before pulling away to win late. Neither team is caught in a trap game, so they’ll give it everything they’ve got.
Prediction
A 14.5-point line seems like too much, but struggling with Minnesota is more excusable than struggling with Fresno State. Also, it’s a noon game in Ohio, and that’s like a 9 a.m. game for Oregon. Given the fact that OSU has the perfect system to match Oregon’s speed, take them to win easily here. Not only will they cover, but they’ll score enough to hit the over.
Ohio State: 41 Oregon: 24 (Ohio State -14.5; Over 63.5)
