Tennessee football: Week 3 SEC and top 25 picks and bets
New Mexico Lobos at No. 7 Texas A&M Aggies (SECN)
Saturday, Sept. 18 at Noon ET; Kyle Field; College Station, Texas
Line: Texas A&M -29.5; Over/Under: 50
Okay, now we’re at a game we can bet on. There’s a lot of concern with the Texas A&M Aggies after they struggled to put away the Colorado Buffaloes in an ugly former Big 12 matchup last week. Now, Jimbo Fisher’s team has one more non-conference game before beginning SEC play next week against the Arkansas Razorbacks.
Heading to College Station to take them on are the New Mexico Lobos. This team is 2-0 after a solid win over its rival, the New Mexico State Aggies last week, but New Mexico State is horrible this year. Their first win was a 27-17 win over the Houston Baptist Huskies.
Simply put, you’ve got two 2-0 teams looking to prove they are worthy of those records. Of course, Tennessee football fans would take 2-0 regardless of if they are worthy, but that’s a story for another day.
Prediction
Last week’s struggles by A&M were a fluke. Playing in Denver is always tough for a team not used to the climate. New Mexico State is a bad team. As a result, we like the Aggies to cover that insanely large spread in this game. The question is the over/under, but the game will just hit the over thanks to one score by New Mexico.
