As was the case all weekend, we’re struggling with exactly how to gauge what Tennessee football was able to do against the Tennessee Tech Golden Eagles. After all, TTU is a horrendous team, and it’s not just by FCS standards. They are 0-3 for a reason and haven’t yet had a winning season under fourth-year head coach Dewayne Alexander.

Because of this, our stock report for the Vols following their 56-0 win is a bit tricky. What is real and what isn’t? Where is the hidden value? How many aspects of the program are overrated? Is anything as good as it looked last Saturday?

These questions are pressing as Tennessee football gets set to visit the Florida Gators this week. Not only are they pressing for analysts, but the Vols have to have a good read on where they stand as well. That’s difficult to do when you beat up on such a bad team, and the only thing we know for sure is that their sluggish first quarter start is concerning.

Part of our stock report will have to take into account what the Vols did the previous two weeks, in particular against the Pittsburgh Panthers. We can measure performances against that game to determine just how legitimate things look right now.

Just like we usually do, we’ll separate our report into slides for stocks that are up, stocks that are down, stocks worth buying and stocks worth selling. Any aspect of the Vols whatsoever will qualify for being listed as a stock, from a player to a position unit to an overall part of the game.

How are things looking for the program heading into Florida week? Where are the Vols truly riding high? Let’s break that down here. This is our stock report for Tennessee football following Week 3 of the 2021 season.
