Tennessee football: Week 4 SEC and top 25 picks and bets
Gambling odds
- Line: Georgia -35.5
- Over/Under: 53
Coming off a blowout loss to the Stanford Cardinal, the Vanderbilt Commodores are still as bad as we thought. However, Clark Lea’s first team is still better than what we thought they were after the first week given their upset over the Colorado State Rams in Week 2. That’s enough for us to say they aren’t a sure victory for Tennessee football right now.
Anyway, the No. 2 ranked Georgia Bulldogs come into this game after failing to cover but still blowing out the team that should be a likely win for Tennessee football, the South Carolina Gamecocks. Kirby Smart truly looks like he might have the best team in the country, and for the third straight week, his team has what should be a sure win.
How much will they win by, though? The ‘Dores are significantly worse than USC, so if Georgia can beat the Gamecocks by 27, does that mean they’ll easily be able to cover this 35.5-point spread? That’s the toughest call here.
Prediction
The best take the over. Georgia scored 40 points on South Carolina, and Vandy and Stanford combined for 64 points. It’s possible UGA’s scoring covers alone here. In fact, their scoring is why they’ll cover this spread. Take them to dominate.
