Gambling odds:

  • Line: Wisconsin -6.5
  • Over/Under: 46
  • Money line: Wisconsin -240; Notre Dame +190

This may be the biggest game of the week outside of one major SEC game, which we’ll get to soon. Brian Kelly’s No. 12/10 ranked Notre Dame Fighting Irish have looked hideous through three games so far, needing overtime to beat a now 0-3 Florida State Seminoles team and then squeaking by the Toledo Rockets the next week.

Last week, though, they finally appeared to put it together and beat what looks like a solid Purdue Boilermakers team by two touchdowns. Kelly still has a solid program going, one he could have had with Tennessee football if Mike Hamilton hired him over Lane Kiffin in 2009.

Anyway, on the other side, the No. 18/15 ranked Wisconsin Badgers had a heartbreaking season-opening loss to the Penn State Nittany Lions. A week later, they rebounded to blow out the Eastern Michigan Eagles 34-7, and now they’re coming into this game off a bye.

Prediction

Notre Dame’s rush offense is outside of the top 100. Wisconsin’s rush defense is No. 1. The Irish have a below average rush defense. Nobody questions Wisconsin can run the ball. Coming off a bye, the Badgers will be unstoppable, and they’ll cover. Take the over because ND won’t stop them. This’ll be one of those historic Wisconsin rushing games that leads to a blowout.

Wisconsin: 35 Notre Dame: 17 (Wisconsin -6.5; Over 46)
