Tennessee football: Week 4 SEC and top 25 picks and bets
Gambling odds:
- Line: Texas A&M -4.5
- Over/Under: 47
- Money line: Texas A&M -190; Arkansas +160
Is this the year the Arkansas Razorbacks finally get over the hump and beat the Texas A&M Aggies? Sam Pittman’s team finally beat the other team from Texas earlier in the year. Pittman is a coaching steal that Tennessee football clearly missed out on.
Ranked No. 16 in the AP Poll and No. 18 in the Coaches Poll, Arkansas’s offense is on a roll with Kendal Briles, particularly on the ground, averaging over 280 yards a game. The passing offense is efficient enough to make for a very potent offense. Through three games, nobody can question that Arkansas is more tested and has looked better than the No. 7/5 Texas A&M Aggies
On the other side, A&M has been winning, shockingly, with defense through three games. They shut out the New Mexico Lobos and beat the Colorado Buffaloes 10-7. Jimbo Fisher’s team is trying to get over the hump with the Alabama Crimson Tide, but they don’t want to slip up against the Hogs in the process.
Prediction
The Hogs have a top 10 rush defense. A&M’s rush defense is outside the top 80. Arkansas keeps it on the ground and controls the clock to pull off the upset and end their nine-game losing streak in this series. A&M QB Zach Calzada is barely completing over 50 percent of his passes, and he’s not ready for this stage, which along with ball control is why this game hits the under as well.
Arkansas: 21 Texas A&M: 14 (Arkansas +4.5; Under 47)
