Gambling odds:

  • Line: Auburn -27
  • Over/Under: 57

In their first year under new head coach Bryan Harsin, the No. 23 ranked Auburn Tigers put on an offensive clinic their first two games, hitting 60 points both times. Then they hit reality last week with their loss to the Penn State Nittany Lions.

However, Penn State is a good team, and Auburn put up a fight. That should actually be encouraging for them as they play their final non-conference game of the season Saturday. The question is how up for the game they can be.

On the other side, Tennessee football fans know all too well how dangerous the Georgia State Panthers can be under Shawn Elliott after losing their opener to them in 2019. GSU lost its first two games, to the Army Black Knights and North Carolina Tar Heels, but those are two good teams, and it scored a solid win over a good Charlotte 49ers team last weekend.

Prediction

Auburn’s offense is potent under Harsin. Georgia State wins with defense, though, and is much better than its 1-2 record. Take the Panthers to slow the game down and cover the spread while the game hits the under. Auburn still wins, but it’ll be a sluggish victory heading into SEC play. Georgia State isn’t the Akron Zips or an FCS team, the two teams Auburn beat to open the year.

Auburn: 35 Georgia State: 10 (Georgia State +27; Under 57)
