Gambling odds:

  • Line: Oklahoma State -6
  • Over/Under: 46.5
  • Money line: Oklahoma State -235; Kansas State +185

Okay, these teams aren’t on the top 25 of both polls. The Kansas State Wildcats are No. 25 in the AP Poll, and the Oklahoma State Cowboys are ranked No. 22 in the Coaches Poll. What’s clear is that the winner of this game will be ranked in both polls.

OSU continues to roll under Mike Gunday. There’s a reason Tennessee football reached out to him twice. He’s a great coach who consistently keeps what should be a mediocre program relevant. This year, they have won three games by one score, against an FCS program, the Tulsa Golden Hurricane and the Boise State Broncos. It’s hard to figure out this team with that resume.

Meanwhile, Kansas State also beat an FCS team by one possession. Chris Klieman’s team did blow out the Stanford Cardinal and the Nevada Wolf Pack, though, so through three games, they are a lot more proven at this point.

Prediction

Nothing about this game suggests one of those Big 12 barnburners, but Kansas State’s offense finally looked like its coming together last week against Nevada. That’ll be enough to hit that 46.5-point spread. The Wildcats will pull off a close one, as Oklahoma State’s luck finally runs out. Even if you don’t pick KSU, that six-point spread is just too much.

Kansas State: 28 Oklahoma State: 27 (Kansas State +6; Over 46.5)
