Oddsmakers aren’t high on Tennessee football as they travel to Gainesville, Fla. to face the Florida Gators this week. It makes sense. After all, the Vols lost 41-34 at home to their only real opponent, an okay Pittsburgh Panthers team, while Florida is coming off a close 31-29 loss to the No. 1 ranked Alabama Crimson Tide.

There’s a reason Florida is No. 11 in both polls while the Vols are unranked despite both teams being 2-1 and having lost to their only Power Five foe. Add in Florida’s four-game winning streak in the series, the fact that they have won 15 of 16 and Dan Mullen being 4-0 against UT, including 3-0 as Florida’s head coach, all with double digit wins, and it’s clear why the Vols are underdogs.

But while all of this is interesting, the line has been inconsistent all week, so what are the best gambling moves for the matchup? That’s a bit more complicated than who will win. Based on information from WynnBET, these are our five best bets for Tennessee football at Florida.

5. Over 64.5

The only question here is if the Vols will be able to score enough to keep up with the Gators. However, Josh Heupel’s offense should score enough to help this game hit the over, even if Florida does the bulk of the work. UT scored 34 points against a solid Pitt defense two weeks ago, and with Heupel’s tempo, there will likely be lots more possessions.

Now, there is a concern with turnovers, as the Vols are prone to fumbles while the Gators are prone to interceptions. However, that could lead to a short field for other teams, which would generate even more scoring, so it’s not all bad if there are offensive miscues.

Add in the fact that both teams are prone to penalties, and it’s easy to see why this game hits the over. Tennessee football has scored over 30 every game this year. Florida was one point away from doing that, scoring 29 against Alabama. It’s hard to see both teams not scoring enough to make sure the game hits the over.
