A once-great rivalry adds another chapter to its story Saturday, as Tennessee football hits the road for the first time under Josh Heupel to take on the Florida Gators. This will be Heupel’s first SEC game as head coach of the Vols.

Rocky Top will be looking to build off of a 56-0 win over the Tennessee Tech Golden Eagles last week. That was a rebound game after they suffered a heartbreaking 41-34 loss at home to the Pittsburgh Panthers the week before.

On the other side, Florida is ranked No. 11 in both polls and looking to build off of a close 31-29 loss last week to the No. 1 ranked Alabama Crimson Tide. Here is all the information you need for Tennessee football’s Saturday matchup.

Florida is on a four-game winning streak in this series and has won 15 of 16 against UT. The Vols have lost three straight by double digits, ever since Dan Mullen took over the program. Rocky Top has never beaten Mullen as a head coach, as they also lost to the Mississippi State Bulldogs in 2012 with him leading the program.

Early in the week, the line for this game was set at 20.5. However, it moved down to 18 during the week, and it’s now up at 19. Although Florida has dominated the series, they haven’t covered a spread greater than 15 points against the Vols in at least 25 years.

The last time the Vols won in The Swamp was 2003, a 24-10 victory. That was their second straight win down there, and they then won in 2004, which remains the only time since the two began playing annually in 1990 that UT has won two straight in this series. Florida won 11 straight after that.
