Last week: Defeated Vanderbilt Commodores 62-0

On one hand, Georgia actually looks a bit less impressive this week. After all, their signature win was over Clemson, and N.C. State beating the Tigers in overtime this past weekend makes that game look less impressive.

However, since that game, Kirby Smart’s kids have been on a roll. They dominated a very good UAB Blazers team that hasn’t lost to any other team, and then they scored wins over back to back Power Five teams. Okay, it’s to two of the bottom-tier teams in our SEC Power Rankings, South Carolina and Vanderbilt, but they are still two Power Five wins.

In fact, Georgia is the one team on this list that has beaten three Power Five teams so far this year. Blowing out South Carolina and Vandy shows just how dominant they have been as well. That combination puts them up here.

However, they fell a spot in our rankings. That’s because of what the team ahead of them did. They’re about to have a brutal road, and we’re not talking about Tennessee football, as two of their next four teams are against undefeated teams, and another is that showdown with Florida. But it all starts next week against that one team that just jumped ahead of them.
