Tennessee football falls back down in Week 4 SEC Power Rankings
Last week: Defeated Texas A&M Aggies 20-10
How did Tennessee football let Sam Pittman slip away?!?! He is now one of many coaches succeeding right now that the Vols passed on, which we wrote about here. Pittman has taken a program that had lost 20 straight SEC games and, by year two, has them in the top 10.
Arkansas would be champions of the old Southwest Conference this year. They have scored double digit victories over the Texas Longhorns and Texas A&M, and neither team has lost a game except to the Hogs. With two victories over quality Power Five teams, Arkansas doesn’t just belong at the top of our SEC Power Rankings. They should be No. 1 in the nation.
Who else has this resume? Both the AP and Coaches Polls have Texas and Texas A&M still in the top 25, and that means Arkansas is the one team to have two wins over top 25 foes so far this year. They were also convincing wins as well. Neither was close.
The tests for Arkansas continue, though, as they get to visit Georgia and Ole Miss over the next two weeks before hosting Auburn. Winning two of those three games would be amazing. No matter what, this team has taken a giant leap forward and belongs up here for now.
