Last week: Lost Boston College Eagles 41-34 in OT

Just like South Carolina, Missouri’s two losses are to two Power Five teams who remain undefeated. Now, we may question how legitimate Kentucky’s and the Boston College Eagles’ undefeated records are, but Eliah Drinkwitz’s team lost to both of them on the road and came within one score both times.

As a result, this team belongs up here in our SEC Power Rankings. They are the highest of the next to last tier right now. Losing close to two questionable but undefeated teams leaves the door wide open for what they could end up doing the rest of the year.

At the same time, we have to point out that they looked ugly in their win over the Central Michigan Chippewas and allowed 28 points to the Southeast Missouri State Redhawks. Even if it was all in the second half and 21 points were surrendered when they already had the game in hand, that calls into question their depth.

How legitimate Mizzou is will be on display this week. They need to win their home game against Tennessee football Saturday. The North Texas Mean Green are right after that, and they face Vandy at the end of October, so even with a trip to Texas A&M, they can get to 5-3 before November, a huge deal if they win this game.
