Tennessee football: Five key Vols to watch for at Missouri

If there’s one area where the Missouri Tigers get torched, it’s in stopping the run. Mizzou ranks next to last in the nation in yards allowed per game at 269.2, and the 6.12 yards per carry they allow is also next to last albeit with a different last place team. Simply put, they are terrible at stopping the run.
Last week, against the Florida Gators, Jabari Small was the leading rusher with 11 carries for 59 yards, averaging just under five and a half yards a carry. He did that despite just coming back from a left shoulder injury, one that still had an impact on him last week.
On Saturday, Small should be healthier, and he should be able to play his role in torching Mizzou on the ground. Despite all the talk about Heupel’s passing attack throughout the preseason, he sets everything up with the run.
Given the fact that Tennessee football will have issues at quarterback Saturday due to Hendon Hooker and Joe Milton III both being hurt, Small will be even more crucial. So far this year, he has 41 carries for 193 yards and two touchdowns, and he also has three catches for 33 yards. Saturday is the perfect chance for him to come up even bigger.
