Tennessee football at Missouri: Five key Tigers to watch
5’8″ 194 pounds; Hometown: New Orleans, Fla.
Was this ever even a question? Tennessee football got torched last week when it had to face its first opponent of the season with a legitimate rush offense. Tyler Badie brings that to the table for Mizzou and is one of the most dynamic players in the league.
So far this year, Badie has 66 carries for 417 yards (6.3 yards per carry) and five touchdowns. He also leads the team in receptions with 20 and receiving touchdowns with three while being second on the team in receiving yards with 176, proving himself to be elite all over the field. That equates to 593 yards from scrimmage and eight touchdowns through just four games.
After sitting behind Larry Rountree III and waiting patiently for his chance to shine, Bailey has not disappointed. He may not be the biggest weapon on the team, but he plays hard and is able to make big plays all over the field. As a result, the Vols will have to keep an eye on him at all times while they try to contain Mizzou’s offense.
Honestly, Badie would top this list regardless of the matchup issues for Tennessee football. He’s just Missouri’s best player, and Eli Drinkwitz knows how to use him. As a result, the Vols have to always be on the lookout for him if they are going to have any chance in this game.
