Tennessee football: Photo gallery from Vols’ 45-20 win vs. South Carolina
It was a second straight fun ride for Tennessee football. Josh Heupel’s offense continues to take off in a huge way, particularly in the first quarter, and the Vols now have two blowout SEC East wins to improve to 4-2 on the year and 2-1 in league play after a 45-20 win over the South Carolina Gamecocks. They are also in a great position to reach a bowl game now.
Saturday afternoon’s matchup was thrilling beyond just the blowout victory with the strong start, though. Rocky Top honored legend Al Wilson, who was recently selected as a College Football Hall of Fame inductee, and also brought out black jerseys for the first time since 2009, the last time they played South Carolina.
Morale is riding high for Tennessee football in a rare way. The Vols have not won two straight SEC games by two scores or more since 2016, when they beat the Kentucky Wildcats and Missouri Tigers in back to back weeks. With things going well, it’s time to look back on some of the fun. Here is a photo gallery from UT’s big win Saturday.
From the Vol Walk to the end of the game, there were plenty of memorable moments in this one for Tennessee football fans. It’s enough to make anybody excited about what the future holds under Heupel, as things really seem like they’re starting to take shape.
Up next is a matchup with the Ole Miss Rebels and former Tennessee football head coach Lane Kiffin. That will likely create more memories, particularly if everybody does what they should do, which includes the Vols bringing out the black jerseys again and ESPN working to get Peyton and Eli Manning to call the game.
All of those things could make for a legendary night and lots more photos to bring you here. Right now, though, it’s just time to look back on how this game went and the position Tennessee football is in right now. No first-year coach on Rocky Top has seen this success in a long time.
