Tennessee football up again in Week 6 SEC Power Rankings
Last week: Defeated Vanderbilt Commodores 42-0
Similar to Texas A&M, Florida lost out on its chance to reach all its goals pretty early in the season. Unlike Texas A&M, Florida still doesn’t have a signature victory. To be fair, their blowout win over Tennessee football is starting to look a bit more impressive, but they need more than that to prove they are still at this elite level under Dan Mullen.
The Gators did do their job in shutting out Vanderbilt, though. That was a solid rebound from a heartbreaking loss to Kentucky, one that proves they can still play at a high level while managing a massive amount of disappointment. Not every team can do that.
Of course, Vandy may be one of the worst teams in SEC history this year, and that includes comparing them to previous Vandy teams, so take everything they do with a grain of salt. Still, they do have two FBS wins.
Anyway, Florida’s two toughest games are next. They visit a reeling LSU team, then they have a bye before their chance to upset Georgia, which could define their season. South Carolina, the Samford Bulldogs, Missouri and the Florida State Seminoles should all be wins to close out the season, so these next two games will truly define them.
