Tennessee football: Vols, SEC and top 25 picks and bets for Week 8 of 2021
Gambling odds according to WynnBET:
- Line: Texas A&M -20.5
- Over/Under: 45.5
- Moneyline: Texas A&M -1600; South Carolina +900
Two weeks ago, this looked like it could be an interesting game. However, the Texas A&M Aggies have finally hit their stride, just like they did in the middle of the season last year under Jimbo Fisher, and they’re now on a roll.
A&M comes into this game on the heels of a 35-14 blowout win over the Missouri Tigers. That game was at Mizzou and followed their dominant win over Alabama, so you have to think their return to Kyle Field is going to generate a ton of excitement. At No. 17 in both polls, this is a chance to continually move back up.
On the other side, South Carolina is coming off a win at Vanderbilt in which Zeb Noland took over for the game-winning drive. The close win following a blowout loss to Tennessee football is scary, but Shane Beamer’s team is 4-3 and needs an upset somewhere to reach bowl eligibility. Could that upset be in this game?
Prediction
This is not a good situation for South Carolina to be in. That program is struggling, and A&M is hitting its stride. As a result, I’ve got a blowout win for this team. The Aggies will cover easily. In fact, they’ll come close to hitting the over themselves. A late touchdown by South Carolina helps with that, though, so take A&M to cover and the over.
Texas A&M: 41 South Carolina: 10 (Texas A&M -20.5; Over 45.5)
