Tennessee football at Alabama: Live stream, game time, TV and radio, betting preview
Back on the road for the first time in three weeks, Tennessee football takes the field Saturday with the monumental task of trying to upset Nick Saban’s Alabama Crimson Tide. In the process, the Vols will be attempting to end their longest losing streak to any team in school history.
Alabama comes in ranked No. 4 in both polls. Last week, they blew out the Mississippi State Bulldogs 49-9, a rebound from their heartbreaking 41-38 loss to the Texas A&M Aggies the week before, which was their first loss in nearly two years.
On the other side, Josh Heupel’s team comes in after a 31-26 heartbreaking loss at home last week to the Ole Miss Rebels, a game that came down to the final play and became infamous for fan outbursts. Here is all the information you need for this matchup as Tennessee football tries to put the drama from last week behind it.

This once great rivalry, dubbed the Third Saturday in October, has lost its luster the past decade-plus. Alabama has a 14-game winning streak in the series, dating back to Saban’s first year on the job. All but two of those games have been won by double digits, and all but three of the games have been won by at least 20 points.
Simply put, Alabama has dominated the Vols. Rocky Top has renewed energy with Heupel in his first year taking over the program, but the records of these two teams combined with the history is why the Tide are favored by four scores.
There’s also the issue of injuries. The Vols come into this game banged up. Last week, they entered without Cooper Mays and Tiyon Evans. Cade Mays then went out early, and Hendon Hooker couldn’t finish the game. Since Heupel’s offense is based in an elite rushing attack using all of those guys, it became very difficult for the offense to do what it usually does.
After this game, both teams get a much-needed bye week. Alabama still controls its own destiny to win the SEC Championship and will next play Nov. 6 against the LSU Tigers. Tennessee football, win or lose, still has an easy, almost sure path, to reach its goal of six wins and will next play Nov. 6 as well at the Kentucky Wildcats.
