Last week: Defeated South Carolina Gamecocks 44-14

This is the second straight year Jimbo Fisher’s team has started to hit its stride after struggling in the first month. It’s hard to understand why they do that, but Texas A&M is finally looking like the team we expected it to be at the beginning of the year, even with the knowledge that the offense would start a new quarterback.

Three straight wins is enough for us to continue slowly moving them up our SEC Power Rankings. They actually have a case to move ahead of one of the one-loss teams in the rankings. After all, they have a longer winning streak than one of them.

However, outside of that huge win over Alabama, their two wins are over the same two SEC teams Tennessee football beat, so they have more to prove. We can’t overreact to them just yet, as they are still riding the wave of that one huge victory.

With a bye like nearly half the league this week, they have a chance for a strong November. It starts at home against Auburn and then a visit to Ole Miss. Those two games will define how good this season is, and if it wins both, then the SEC West is actually back on the table again if Alabama manages to slip up somewhere else. Don’t count that possibility out just yet.
