While Tennessee football spent the week off getting healthy and improving, I spent the weekend seeing my production crater on my bets based on odds from the WynnBET betting odds. The Michigan State Spartans second-half comeback killed me the most, but there was no bad luck on the other picks I got wrong. I just got them wrong. It only took six games to wreck me.

Week 9 performances

  • Outright:3-3
  • Moneyline: 3-3; $260 lost if $100 bet on every game (-43%)
  • Gambling record: 3-9 (1-5 against the spread; 2-4 over/under)

Now I’m well in the red on moneyline picks. The good news is I’m just barely still turning a profit on the gambling picks against the spread and on the over/under, sitting at 53.3 percent. However, I’m clearly hanging by a thread as we begin our November slate.

2021 overall performances

  • Outright: 69-25
  • Moneyline: 50-24; Lost $322 if $100 bet on every game (-4%)
  • Gambling record: 88-77-3 (46-38 against the spread; 42-39-3 over/under)

We’ll go by the College Football Playoff the rest of the year to determine top 25 rankings. There are no non-SEC top 25 games this week. One SEC team has a bye, another has a non-conference foe and the other six play each other, making for seven games. Picking them in the order they are scheduled with Tennessee football last, these are our Week 10 SEC games to pick and bet on.

Noon ET. 7-2. 2384. Oxford, Miss.. Saturday, Nov. 6. 6-2 (3-2). 841. SEC Network

Gambling odds according to WynnBET:

  • Line: Ole Miss -9.5
  • Over/Under: 67.5
  • Moneyline: Ole Miss -350; Liberty +285

It’s the biggest storyline of a ranked Power Five team against a Group of Five team this year. Former Ole Miss Rebels head coach Hugh Freeze returns to Vaught-Hemingway Stadium as head coach of the Liberty Flames. Ironically, Tennessee football fans wanted Freeze, and he’ll be facing former Tennessee football head coach Lane Kiffin.

Ole Miss comes in seriously banged up after a 31-20 loss to the Auburn Tigers. We don’t know how healthy Matt Corral is, which makes this line tough. Still, they’re No. 16 in the CFP rankings for a reason, and this one is at home. So what happens?

Prediction

Liberty’s claim to fame is playing the Syracuse Orange close. They haven’t done anything else impressive. As a result, I’m taking Ole Miss to cover here, with or without Corral. However, without Corral, and with Ole Miss’ defense playing much better in recent weeks, I also have the under. Yes, I’m betting on Ole Miss to deliver the cover with their play on defense.

Ole Miss: 38 Liberty: 21 (Ole Miss -9.5; Under 67.5)
