Gambling odds according to WynnBET:

  • Line: Texas A&M -4.5
  • Over/Under: 49
  • Moneyline: Texas A&M -180; Auburn +160

It’s a battle at Kyle Field between two teams still in the race to win the SEC West. One still controls its own destiny but would be eliminated with a loss this weekend. The other could still be in play, but it would depend on what happens the rest of the year.

Anyway, the Texas A&M Aggies are coming off a bye under Jimbo Fisher having just hit their stride, ranked No. 14 in the College Football Playoff. Their win over the Alabama Crimson Tide proves they are the same program from a year ago, one that figures it out when October hits and goes on a tear after that. Still, Alabama is their only quality win. This is their chance to get another one.

On the other side, the Auburn Tigers control their own destiny to win the West. They are ranked No. 13 in the College Football Playoff and have Alabama at home. Say what you want about Josh Heupel and Tennessee football, but Bryan Harsin continues to have the best season of any first-year head coach. After dominating Ole Miss and the Arkansas Razorbacks, can he keep it up?

Prediction

Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again but expecting a different result. By that logic, I’m insane. I picked against Auburn their last two games, and they won. However, Texas A&M hitting its stride and coming off a bye week leads me to pick them, and honestly, I could see them winning comfortably. Both offenses are doing well, so I’m taking the over and A&M to cover.

Texas A&M: 31 Auburn: 24 (Texas A&M -4.5; Over 49)
