The most memorable games between these two teams to suggest this rivalry was competitive took place at Bryant-Denny Stadium. One was two years ago, and the other was back in 2011, during the game of the century. Nobody expects that this year.

Coming off a 52-24 blowout win over Tennessee football before entering a bye, Alabama comes into this game ranked No. 2 in the College Football Playoff. Nick Saban’s team controls its own destiny, just as Auburn does. However, any loss the rest of the way could change that, especially if Texas A&M wins this Saturday.

LSU, on the other hand, is trying to create some sort of swan song for Ed Orgeron. However, even coming off a bye, they have no reason for their morale to be where it needs to be. Upsetting Alabama would be a great way to send off Coach O, though. Can they do it?

Prediction

Honestly, Alabama doesn’t have the best pass defense, and passing the ball is LSU’s sole strength. That’ll be enough for LSU, after a bye, to keep this a game in the second half. As a result, take them to cover. However, in somewhat of a shootout, Alabama’s offense will be too much, so take them to pull away in the fourth quarter. That’ll hit the over, but they won’t cover.
