4-6 (2-5). Previous: . Tigers . 9. team. 817.

Last week: Lost to Arkansas Razorbacks 16-13 in OT

It’s hard to know where to put the LSU Tigers in our SEC Power Rankings. The fact is, This is a bad team that now likely won’t make a bowl game to send Ed Orgeron off with a bang his final year on the job. However, at the same time, they keep fighting, barely losing to Alabama and then Arkansas, and they have played a brutal slate.

Their last six games were all against teams in the top 25 when they played them, and three of those teams are still in the top 25. Their last two games are close losses to two of the top teams in the league, and the game before that is a non-embarrassing loss to one of the top teams.

Honestly, they have a case at No. 8. However, the nature of them being on a three-game losing streak forced us to put them down here at No. 9. It was truly down to them and Tennessee football, and LSU’s skid forced them to go here.

Can they rebound with a bowl berth, though? Well, they finally get a breather with the Louisiana Monroe Warhawks coming to town this weekend. Then the real tough match comes, as they host the Texas A&M Aggies. An upset there gets them to a bowl, so they have a shot, but it’ll be extremely difficult to pull off.
