Gambling odds according to WynnBET

  • Line: Auburn -7.5
  • Over/Under: 45
  • Moneyline: Auburn -290; South Carolina +245

Just like Missouri, South Carolina has to pull of an upset over the next two weeks either against the Auburn Tigers or the Clemson Tigers, both at Williams-Brice Stadium, to reach bowl eligibility. Tennessee football ironically blew out both of these teams in back to back weeks as well.

This is a battle of first-year head coaches. Auburn had different expectations with Bryan Harsin, as he walked into a lot more talent. However, they have suffered two tough losses in back to back weeks, highlighted by them blowing a 28-3 lead against the Mississippi State Bulldogs last week. This team is starting to fall apart.

Meanwhile, South Carolina blew its best shot at reaching bowl eligibility Shane Beamer’s first year by losing to Mizzou last week. However, they still have two more chances, and Beamer could be another guy with a coach of the year case if he gets this team to six wins.

Prediction

Bo Nix out makes this a tricky game to call. T.J. Finley has barely completed over 50 percent of his passes this year. That alone is enough to take South Carolina to cover and the under. But who wins? Honestly, with this game being close, a bowl on the line and South Carolina playing at home, they have the advantage late. I’m taking them in a shocker.

South Carolina: 17 Auburn: 16 (South Carolina +7.5; Under 45)
