Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. Offensive lineman. Senior. Jerome Carvin. 4. player. 839

Blocked for 250 rushing yards

Jabari Small, Jaylen Wright and Len’Neth Whitehead were all stars in this game on the ground. Small had 11 carries for 73 yards (6.6 yards per carry) and two touchdowns. Wright had 13 carries for 83 yards (6.4 yards per carry) and a touchdown. Whitehead had six carries for 60 yards (10 yards per carry) and a touchdown.

As a team, the Vols had 43 carries for 250 yards (5.8 yards per carry) and four touchdowns, and that occurred despite allowing three sacks. All of those players deserved to be mentioned for how hard they ran. However, there was one constant.

Back and fully healthy, Jerome Carvin was the reliable interior blocker. He first did it at left guard. However, then Cooper Mays went out with an injury, so Carvin moved over to center. Tennessee football’s rushing attack didn’t suffer at all.

Even with Cade Mays out alongside Cooper Mays, leaving Carvin as the main run blocker, things didn’t let up. As a result, Carvin is the MVP of Saturday’s rushing attack, and that’s why he earned his way onto this list. Ollie Lane, Javontez Spraggins and Darnell Wright all deserver their due, particularly Spraggins. Carvin, though, was the best of the unit.
