Hey, anything can happen in a rivalry, right? Well, if some sort of upset happens at Bobby Dodd Stadium Saturday, it’ll probably be the most shocking upset in the history of this in-state series. There’s too much of a gap between these teams.

The Georgia Bulldogs likely had their toughest test in November two weeks ago against Tennessee football, and they coasted to a 41-17 win. Now, ranked No. 1 across the board, they’ve got a chance to secure a spot in the College Football Playoff with a win Saturday no matter what happens in the SEC Championship game.

On the other side, the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets still haven’t won more than three games in a season under third-year head coach Geoff Collins. They haven’t even won two straight. In the midst of a five-game losing streak, an upset here would salvage everything. Tennessee football fans had the same hope against UGA two weeks ago. Is it possible here?

Prediction

Okay, no upset is happening. However, that 35-point spread is in overreaction. Until last week, GT’s four straight losses were all within 11 points. Georgia will score early and call off the dogs, as they’re focused on the SEC title game. The defense will still dominate, though, so they don’t cover, but this game hits the over.

Georgia: 41 Georgia Tech: 10 (Georgia Tech +35; Under 54)
