  • Moneyline: Oklahoma State -200; Baylor +175

Now we’ve reached a conference championship game with College Football Playoff implications. Both of these teams actually have a shot at getting in, one more of an outside shot than the other, but both look like they’re going to need some help. Both of these teams are also coming off thrilling victories to be able to play in this game.

Mike Gundy’s Oklahoma State Cowboys barely survived the Oklahoma Sooners last week, but they came through in the end with a thrilling four-point victory. With only one loss, they have the best chance to reach the CFP, as they are ranked No. 5 across the board, and there are three chances for them this weekend to move up to No. 4 if they win.

On the other side, the Baylor Bears are No. 9 across the board and have resurrected under Dave Aranda in a way opposite what they were under Matt Rhule or Art Briles: with a dominating defense. If they win, they need at least two games to go a certain way to have a shot, but it’s definitely possible.

Prediction

Oklahoma State beat Baylor by two scores despite three turnovers the last time. They’re a much better team, and with a real playoff spot on the line, they won’t let this conference championship game slip through their fingers. As a result, take them to cover. The over/under just seems too low, so take the over but only slightly. If you can, avoid that pick.

Oklahoma State: 31 Baylor: 21 (Oklahoma State -5; Over 46.5)
