Conference championship 2021 predictions and gambling bets

A potential top 25 finish is on the line in this conference championship matchup. The San Diego State Aztecs come into this game ranked No. 19 across the board. Brady Hoke, whom Vol fans remember well, has truly resurrected himself at his old job given what he’s done.

There was that slip-up against the Fresno State Bulldogs at home in what is always a difficult rivalry game, but outside of that, this team has won playing Hoke’s style. Only two teams have scored over 21 points against them all year.

On the other side, the Utah State Aggies are having a monster first year under head coach Blake Anderson, who left the Arkansas State Red Wolves and was replaced by Butch Jones. Ironically, Hoke replaced Jones after he was fired at UT. Anyway, Utah State has won six of seven and they’ve done it with offense, so that could make this game interesting.

Prediction

Nothing about this game will be interesting. This is the first conference championship blowout that I’m confident calling. Utah State just lost to the Wyoming Cowboys 44-17. They only won the Mountain Division because they played the three worst teams in the West. Take San Diego State to cover, and take the under because Utah State won’t score.
