So far this year, the Tennessee Lady Vols have beaten two ranked teams, three Power Five teams, one team on the road, two Power Five teams away from home and a ranked Power Five team. Now, they will be tested against a Power Five team on the road.

On the heels of back to back wins of at least 25 points, UT will head up the road to take on the Virginia Tech Hokies. Kellie Harper’s team heads into this matchup four days after a 76-48 win over the Tennessee Tech Golden Eagles.

Led by sixth-year head coach Kenny Brooks, Virginia Tech comes into this game on the heels of a 10-point win at the Wisconsin Badgers. They are two spots out of the AP Top 25 and six spots out of the Coaches Poll Top 25, while UT is ranked No. 11 in the AP Poll and No. 10 in the Coaches Poll. Here is all the information you need for the Tennessee Lady Vols’ matchup.

7-0. Sunday, Dec. 5. 447. 2 p.m. ET. 534. Cassell Coliseum. 7-1. Blacksburg, Va.

Broadcast info:

Ironically, Virginia Tech’s only loss is to the Missouri State Lady Bears, where Harper used to coach. They have four of five starters back from last year’s team, which made the NCAA Tournament for the first time in 15 years.

As a result, this is a dangerous game for a UT team that has been pushing through without its best player, Rae Burrell, ever since its opener. However, it’s also another chance at a quality win for a team that has already compiled a few of them this year.

A win in this game should push Rocky Top into the top 10 of both polls. Before beating Tennessee Tech, they beat the Oklahoma State Cowgirls by 25 and the Kansas Jayhawks by 10, so they have been looking better and better.

Up next for the Tennessee Lady Vols will be an afternoon matchup next Sunday against the Georgia State Panthers. They will then host the Stanford Cardinal the following Saturday, their final marquee matchup before SEC play begins. Virginia Tech, meanwhile, will next visit the Liberty Flames on Tuesday.
