Tennessee football: All 2021-2022 bowl game picks and bets

Gambling odds according to WynnBET:
- Line: BYU -7
- Over/Under: 55
- Moneyline: BYU -265; UAB +210
We’ve got our first bowl game featuring a top 25 team, and it’s a classic one. The Radiance Technologies Independence Bowl features two Group of Five teams, but one is an Independent and about to join the Big 12. The other has become a fixture in the C-USA.
After giving up their program years ago, the UAB Blazers have become a model of consistency under Bill Clark. This is a staff built on lots of Alabama guys with connections to former Tennessee football head coach Jeremy Pruitt, and while it has a bad loss to the Rice Owls, it has been solid again this year.
On the other side, BYU is ranked No. 13 in the College Football Playoff rankings, No. 12 in the AP Poll and No. 14 in the Coaches Poll. Sixth-year head coach Kalani Sitake’s only losses are an upset to Boise State and at the Big 12 champion Baylor Bears. A top 10 finish could be on the line in this game. Ironically, Tennessee football played both of these teams in 2019.
Prediction
UAB has beaten two 7-5 teams and a 6-6 team. BYU has beaten four Power Five bowl teams, including the the Pac-12 champion, and a 10-3 team. They are way better. With leading rusher DeWayne McBride potentially out due to injury and Alex Wright potentially opting out, UAB will get destroyed here. Take BYU to cover, but take the under, as UAB won’t score enough.
BYU: 31 UAB: 7 (BYU -7; Under 55)
