Tennessee football: Five best prop bets vs. Purdue in Music City Bowl

Prop bet No. 1: Tennessee over 36.5

This might hit in the first half. One sure bet is that Tennessee football will score at will on Purdue in the first quarter. Again, that’s when the Vols get the bulk of their points, and Purdue is playing this game without its best pass rusher and its best cornerback. That should allow UT’s passing offense to torch them through the air.

The only question is if the Vols can get their run game going early on, but that’s not as crucial as we thought it would be early in the week. You could honestly bet on Hendon Hooker having a historic day against Purdue, and that’ll lead to the Vols hitting the over.

Remember, our first prop bet on the first half over/under was based on the scoring the Vols would do. The only drawback was whether or not Purdue would score enough to allow that to happen. However, there’s no doubt Rocky Top will do its part.

Because of that, they’ll hit the over in this game. They shown an ability to score at will at times in the second half as well, so it’s not like they won’t do anything after the first quarter. It’ll be shocking if the Vols themselves don’t cross 40 points.
