On the heels of a comeback win over the Arkansas Razorbacks in their SEC road opener Sunday, the Tennessee Lady Vols are back home for a marquee top 25 league matchup. It’s just in time too, as they are now the healthiest they have been all season.

Kellie Harper’s team, ranked No. 7 in the AP Poll and No. 8 in the Coaches Poll, will host the Texas A&M Aggies Thursday night. A&M is ranked No. 25 in the AP Poll and No. 23 in the Coaches Poll but is coming off a road loss to the LSU Tigers this past Sunday.

Rocky Top will host Gary Blair’s team one game after Rae Burrell checked into the lineup for the first time since she was injured in the opener and amidst Jordan Horston’s return. Here is all the information you need for the Tennessee Lady Vols’ critical matchup.

Broadcast information

In Sunday’s win against Arkansas, Burrell played 12 minutes off the bench and scored two points. Horston started after missing the previous two games. Since Horston missed the opener, it was the first game that saw both Burrell and Horston play. It’s unclear when Burrell will start again, but if that happens in this game, it will be the first time this season.

Despite losing at LSU, a top 20 team in both polls, Texas A&M comes into this game a very dangerous team. They have solid wins against the DePaul Blue Demons, Stephen F. Austin Lumberjacks and Northwestern Wildcats. Two of their three losses are to top 25 teams, the other being the Texas Longhorns.

However, they also have a bad loss to the TCU Horned Frogs, and they are still searching for a top 25 win. This could be their chance. They are still trying to rebuild from last year’s team that went 25-3 and made the Sweet Sixteen, as they had to replace three starters, including their two leading scorers, but they still have some talent.

Harper is still looking for her first win against A&M since taking over UT. After this game, the Tennessee Lady Vols will visit the Ole Miss Rebels on Sunday, Jan. 9. Texas A&M will host the Florida Gators that same day.
