Tennessee basketball at Vanderbilt: Live stream, broadcast info, line, odds, prediction
Coming off an embarrassing loss on the road this past weekend to the Kentucky Wildcats, who are now ranked No. 12 in both polls, Tennessee basketball returns to the state but for another game away from home. UT will be up the road to face the Vanderbilt Commodores in an attempt to get back on track.
Ranked No. 24 in the AP Poll and No. 25 in the Coaches Poll, Rick Barnes’ team comes into this game with tons of questions surrounding them. They have no quality SEC wins yet, and they’re still looking for their first road win in the league.
Under third-year head coach Jerry Stackhouse, Vanderbilt comes in on the heels of a solid win this past weekend over the Georgia Bulldogs to break what was a two-game losing streak. Here is all the information you need for Tennessee basketball’s matchup.

Although Kentucky shot the ball historically well over the weekend, Rocky Top has no excuse for losing the way they did, by 28 points. The lack of consistency that has plagued this team has them clinging to a top 25 ranking right now.
Vandy, meanwhile, seems to be taking a leap forward under Stackhouse. After losing seasons his first two years on the job, the ‘Dores are benefitting from the return of leading score Scotty Pippen, the emergence of Jordan Wright and lots of other production back from last year with more experience, which offset the transfer of Dylan Disu.
This is still probably not an NCAA Tournament team, but it’s one that looks a lot better than it did in previous seasons, and their home court is never an easy place for the Vols to play. After this matchup, UT returns home for a rematch Saturday with the LSU Tigers, ranked No. 13 in the AP Poll and No. 16 in the Coaches Poll. Vanderbilt will visit the Florida Gators that same day.
Tennessee at Vanderbilt prediction
Hidden in the Vols’ 107-79 loss at UK last weekend was the return of their three-point shooting. That won’t continue here with the Memorial Gym magic. UT will win, but take Vanderbilt +6.5 thanks to another struggling shooting night by the Vols, which will also result in this game hitting the Under 135. The score will look something like this: Tennessee 60 Vanderbilt 56.
