839. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. player. Trevon Flowers. 8. Defensive back. Senior

5’11” 200 pounds

One of the most experienced players for Tennessee football, Trevon Flowers was in the rotation as a true freshman in 2018, he started half of 2019 before suffering a season-ending injury on a broken leg after an interception, and then he came back and started pretty much all of 2020. This past year, he started pretty much the whole season again.

Flowers’ PFF grade was 63, but he finished the year with two interceptions, a sack, one and a half tackles for a loss and 82 total tackles, 48 of which were solo. Add in his three pass deflections, and it’s safe to say that his productivity slightly increased this year.

A huge boost for the Vols was Flowers deciding to come back for his senior year. Now, like many people on defense, he did struggle in certain areas, many of which came with learning a new system in the process, which is why his PFF grade took a massive dip from the 70s last year.

That was enough to keep Flowers in the bottom half of this list. However, coming back, he’s got another year to improve, and with more experience in the system, he could return to his usual self at free safety, locking up the position in a way very few people do. The guy truly is a center fielder back there, and his experience playing baseball in the outfield shows.
