Coming off a huge road win over a top 15 team, the Tennessee Lady Vols remain away from home for another crucial SEC matchup Thursday night. Kellie Harper’s team will take the court ranked in the top five of both polls for the first time since 2015.

At No. 4 in the AP Poll and No. 5 in the Coaches Poll, UT will visit the Auburn Tigers. They head into the matchup still as the only undefeated team in SEC play. They most recently beat the Georgia Bulldogs 63-55, who were No. 13 in both polls at the time and are now No. 15 in the AP Poll and No. 12 in the Coaches Poll.

Auburn, meanwhile, comes into this game under first-year head coach Johnnie Harris as the only winless team in the league. They most recently lost at home to the Kentucky Wildcats. Here is all the information you need for the Tennessee Lady Vols’ matchup.

It’s a tale of two streaks for these teams. Auburn is on a seven-game losing streak that directly coincides with all their SEC losses. UT is on a nine-game winning streak that includes every SEC win, their only loss on the year coming at home to the Stanford Cardinal.

Auburn is trying to rebuild after two straight losing seasons that ended the 10-year tenure of Terri Williams-Flournoy last year. Harris is having to deal with the transition plus the fact that his team lost last year’s leading scorer, Unique Thompson, to the WNBA and rising sophomore Romi Levy to a season-ending injury before the year started.

Despite those losses, Auburn showed a lot of fight in the middle to end of their non-conference stretch. After losing their first two games and then falling to 2-3, they went on a six-game winning streak before SEC play began.

Part of what has been difficult for them since beginning league play has been incorporating Texas Longhorns transfer center Precious Johnson into the lineup. However, as they build more chemistry, this team will get more dangerous.

On the other side, Rocky Top has been riding high. Rae Burrell and Jordan Horston started for the first time together all season on Sunday, and it worked to perfection. However, it’s not all roses, as Keyen Green suffered a season-ending injury Monday, so Harper is back to reshuffling her rotation in an attempt to create more depth.

This is a decent game to work on that, but they can’t take it too lightly being on the road. After this matchup, the Tennessee Lady Vols will host the Arkansas Razorbacks on Monday, Jan. 31. Auburn, meanwhile, will visit the Vanderbilt Commodores the Sunday before that.
