2. Giovanni Davis

Defensive lineman; 6’4″-6’5″; 280 pounds

With defensive line a huge need for Tennessee football, the Vols could definitely turn to some in-state talent. Giovannia Davis, a three-star on Rivals and 247Sports, is closer to a pure defensive tackle size, but if he stays the weight he’s at right now, he could immediately fill the void Caleb Tremblay just left.

Coming out of South Pittsburgh High School in Marion County, Tenn., Davis is listed as a defensive tackle on Rivals. Given the departures of Matthew Butler and Ja’Quain Blakely along with the fact that Aubrey Solomon and LaTrell Bumphus will certainly be gone this year or next year, he’ll be a crucial player for the Vols’ depth either way.

All signs point to Davis picking the Vols, despite those signs being limited. Although the Rivals Future Cast has no predictions, UT is a 97 percent favorite on the Rivals Fan Future Cast and received the only 247Sports Crystal Ball with a high confidence meter.

Taking those two things into account, Davis joins Kendall Jackson as two players on this list we might even consider likely to commit to Rocky Top on National Signing Day. His size makes him a great candidate to lock up the middle, and he’d certainly help with depth immediately.
