3. Jeffrey M’ba (Junior College)

Defensive lineman; Montville, Conn.; Independence Community College

Now we look at players Tennessee football was actually in contention for. The Vols actually made Jeffrey M’ba’s top 10 on Twitter back in November, and during the Early Signing Period, all signs pointed to him being down to UT and Auburn. He ended up choosing Auburn four days after the Early Signing Period, but this saga with Bryan Harsin may change things.

Initially from the Congo, M’ba eventually moved to France and began playing football before moving to Connecticut, settling in the Oakdale neighborhood in New London County and graduating from St. Thomas More High School. He then went to community college in Kansas, where he has spent the past two years.

Standing between 6’5″ and 6’6″ and weighing in the range of 275 to 311 pounds, M’ba is listed as a defensive tackle across the board. He is a four-star across every service except for On3, where he is listed as a three-star and will have three years of eligibility.

M’ba would be a huge get for Tennessee football, as the Vols need immediate help on the defensive line. Matthew Butler, Ja’Quain Blakely and Caleb Tremblay are gone. Aubrey Solomon and LaTrell Bumphus could be gone, and they certainly will be after this year. Despite three commitments, Josh Heupel could use more help. Flipping M’ba would be that help.
