2. Keionte Scott (Junior College)

Defensive back; La Mesa, Calif.; Snow College

Another JuCo prospect, Tennessee football made the top five for Keionte Scott back in November, one month before he committed to Auburn, which happened during the Early Signing Period. All signs point toward him going to Auburn, but it was also clear that if the Tigers weren’t in the picture, the Vols would have a strong chance to land him.

Standing between 6’0″ and 6’1″ and weighing in the range of 180 to 190 pounds, Scott is listed as a cornerback across the board and is a four-star across every service except On3. He graduated from Helix High School, which is in California’s San Diego County, in 2020 before going to community college in Ephraim, Utah, meaning he will have three years of eligibility remaining.

With the departure of Alontae Taylor and Theo Jackson and the performance of the Vols’ secondary in the Music City Bowl, it’s pretty clear that Josh Heupel and Tim Banks could use some immediate help there. Depth would also be useful at cornerback.

As a result, the Vols should give it another shot with Scott. In addition to the departures, there are questions about the players returning. If he does choose to get out his letter of intent and head to Rocky Top, he would have a chance at starting immediately.
